PhishLine Allies with Pipeline Security and Gets into the Japanese Market

Milwaukee-based safety consciousness training and anti-phishing seller PhishLine has announced a new collaboration with the Tokyo-based company Pipeline Security.

It is hoped that this new partnership will help PhishLine to increase its footprint in East Asia and reinforce its presence in the Japanese safety marketplace.

Pipeline Security is a well-appreciated safety company that serves many top-tier organizations in Japan, offering a range of safety solutions to help Japanese businesses to increase their information security controls. Together with technological solutions that can reduce vulnerability to cyberattacks, Pipeline Security will currently be providing an anti-phishing solution as well as PhishLine’s safety awareness training platform.

Businesses can implement a variety of security controls, but those solutions frequently don’t deal with the human element. When phishing electronic mails are provided to users, or employees encounter phishing sites when browsing the Internet, it’s necessary that the threats are recognized. Even the best safety protections can all too effortlessly be ruined by a single employee that lacks safety consciousness.

As Chief Executive Officer of Pipeline Security, Allan Watanabe described, “The human factor will be the major weakness in the cyber security kill sequence.” Regardless of the technical solutions used, if employees are not taught to be more security aware, companies will continue to face a high risk of surrendering to successful cyberattack.

The dangers were clearly highlighted by the WannaCry illegal computer software attacks in May 2017. A number of Japanese companies were infected by the illegal computer software, including Honda. The Honda production plant was required to temporarily shut down when its systems were infected with the ransomware. All in all, about 600 Japanese businesses were affected by that only illegal computer software attack, which took out more than 2,000 computers as per the Japan Computer Emergency Reaction Group.

“Increasing employee security consciousness with PhishLine’s security simulations and teaching in Phishing, Smishing, and Vishing enable businesses to arrange and mitigate potential issues when real safety problems arise,” stated Watanabe.

Pipeline Security will now be providing PhishLine’s security awareness and anti-phishing behavior administration teaching to its customers, giving them access to thousands of teaching sources and PhishLine’s phishing as well as social engineering simulation checks.
