The Sunnyvale, CA-based cybersecurity company Proofpoint has declared it has introduced a new Closed-Loop Electronic mail Analysis and Response (CLEAR) solution that can considerably decrease the time it takes to triage email-based dangers.
The solution uses a whole closed-loop method to automatically analyze doubtful electronic mails informed by end users to safety teams, identify real dangers from wrong positives, and assist safety teams to remediate dangers.
Proofpoint CLEAR is the first joint solution created by Proofpoint and Wombat Safety Technologies since the anti-phishing seller was bought in Q1, 2018.
Even innovative technological defenses versus phishing attacks are incapable of obstructing all electronic mail dangers. It is for that reason unavoidable that some malevolent messages will be delivered to end users’ inboxes. Therefore, it is now crucial for firms to provide safety consciousness training to workers to assist them to recognize and report electronic mail dangers to their safety teams.
Workers often make a mistake on the side of carefulness and report several benign electronic mails to their safety teams along with real dangers. Sorting through those reported electronic mails to find the actual dangers can take a substantial amount of time. Safety teams are often short staffed and pressed for time, therefore any solution that can automate time-consuming jobs such as phishing danger identification and alleviation is very advantageous. As per Proofpoint, the CLEAR system decreases the time from reporting dangers to remediation from days to minutes.
Using the PhishAlarm electronic mail add-on, workers can report doubtful electronic mails to their safety teams with a single click instead of having to manually forward messages. As a consequence, workers are more likely to report doubtful electronic mails swiftly. It’s at this point that Proofpoint CLEAR gets to work.
The solution includes Proofpoint’s leading threat intelligence together with several intelligence and reputation systems, which are utilized to automatically evaluate the reported electronic mails. The solution eliminates electronic mails sent from whitelisted electronic mail addresses and phishing simulation platforms and automatically decides whether an electronic mail poses an actual danger. The actual dangers are then informed to the safety team and can then be erased or isolated with a single click.
“Proofpoint CLEAR increases the visibility of phishing campaigns and automatically manages employee-reported malevolent messages, highlighting the positive and direct impact that informed workers can have on improving the safety posture of a business,” said Joe Ferrara, general manager of the Wombat Security department of Proofpoint.
Proofpoint CLEAR also includes data on the persons who have fallen for simulated phishing electronic mails and includes an auditable history of actions taken during the remediation process to deliver a complete review of companies’ reaction to phishing attacks.
